Can I just hire a soloist?

It depends.
A solo violinist can be absolutely beautiful for an intimate proposal or anniversary celebration. But for a wedding ceremony, we recommend a duet or trio.
After all, a wedding marks the beginning of a partnership. This is the moment two lives begin moving together in harmony. There’s something especially meaningful about hearing multiple instruments blending together as you step into this new chapter side by side.
The added depth and richness of an ensemble create a more emotional, immersive atmosphere for both you and your guests.
Our string quartet is our most requested ensemble for weddings, offering a timeless balance of elegance, depth, and atmosphere. For couples envisioning an even more immersive and cinematic experience, be sure to ask about our 8-piece orchestra.

How much do you charge?

Accepted Answer

Pricing depends on the ensemble size, performance duration, and any special arrangements. Most clients spend around $3,000 for a wedding but we have services that start at around $1,500. Why do I need my musicians at my wedding rehearsal?

Wedding rehearsals allow us to do far more than simply “practice” the ceremony timeline.
By attending the rehearsal, we’re able to coordinate the precise timing of entrances, transitions, and musical cues so each moment feels seamless, intentional, and emotionally impactful. It also gives us the opportunity to collaborate with your planner, officiant, photographers, and bridal party to ensure everyone feels confident and aligned.
For couples who want a more personalized experience, rehearsals also open the door for creative musical moments. With the rehearsal, we have time to create perfectly timed entrances and extended transitions to custom cues and unique musical touches designed specifically around your ceremony.
Rehearsal attendance is offered as a service in our Hydrangea Package but can be added on to any package.
Many couples find it adds an extra level of polish, ease, and personalization to the overall experience.

Will you learn a specific song for us?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer custom arrangements for special songs not in our repertoire. Please provide your request at least 2–4 weeks in advance. A small arranging fee may apply for ensembles like duet or larger.

Is it important that my musicians have formal credentials?

This is such a great question and one that is often highly debated.
While there are incredible musicians at all levels of experience and training, formal education often allows musicians to offer greater flexibility and customization throughout the music planning process.
Many professionally trained musicians are experienced in reading sheet music and are fluent in music theory, which allows them to learn custom arrangements quickly, accompany guest performers, and adapt seamlessly during live events.
This flexibility can create more opportunities for personalized and creative musical moments, allowing couples to choose from a wider range of music and customizations tailored specifically to their celebration.
At Luxe Harmony, we select musicians not only for their artistry, but for their professionalism, adaptability, and ability to create a thoughtful and elevated experience for each event.

Question 6

How long do you usually play?

Accepted Answer

For weddings, we usually begin by performing 30 minutes before the ceremony as guests arrive. This is known as the prelude. During the ceremony itself, we typically play for key moments such as the bridal party processional, bridal entrance, and the couple’s recessional.
Some clients also choose to include live music during the cocktail hour or dinner, which typically adds about an hour of performance time.
While we don’t usually play throughout the entire ceremony while the officiant is speaking, many couples make the most of our presence by having us perform during unity rituals, vow exchanges, or other special moments. Some even choose to include a mini concert during the event as a unique way to stay grounded and present on their big day.

At what types of events do you perform?

While we specialize in weddings, we also perform at private events, corporate functions, proposals, anniversaries, and more. If you’re planning something special, we’re happy to be part of it.

What instruments are available in your ensemble?

Our core group includes violins, viola, and cello but we also have available in our network pianists, harpists, guitarists, and ukulele performers. We offer solo performances, string duos, trios, and full quartets, depending on your vision and budget.

Do you perform outdoors?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We absolutely love outdoor weddings and events! However, due to the delicate nature of string instruments, we do request adequate cover or shelter to protect us and our instruments from potential rain or harsh sun.
Unlike brass or wind instruments, violins, violas, and cellos are made of fine wood with a light varnish that offers little protection against moisture. Even less than what you’d find on a guitar. These instruments are also held together with water-soluble glue, not nails or bolts, making them especially vulnerable to weather damage.
We do our best to bring instruments suited for outdoor use, but we kindly ask that you have a backup plan in place in case of inclement weather. This ensures the safety of the instruments and the quality of your performance.

Can we choose the music for our ceremony or event?

Absolutely! We have a large repertoire that includes classical, pop, movie themes, jazz, and more. We’ll help you choose songs or take special requests

Do you need amplification or bring your own sound equipment?

Accepted Answer

For small to mid-sized venues, our acoustic sound is usually perfect. For larger spaces or outdoor events, we can bring amplification usually at no extra cost—please inquire during booking.

What do you need to have provided to you to play at my event

Accepted Answer

We do our best to be flexible, but certain setup requirements are essential for string musicians.
For violinists, violists, and cellists to perform comfortably and at their best, we require chairs without arms and adequate space to allow free bow movement. The bow must move back and forth smoothly to produce sound, and tight spaces can interfere with our performance.

For a solo musician, a 4×4 ft area is sufficient.
For a string quartet, we need four armless chairs and at least 10×10 ft of performance space.

If you’re unsure about the space at your venue, we’re happy to advise!

Do I need to tip my musician?

Accepted Answer

While tips are always appreciated for our job well done, we ensure our musicians are paid sufficiently so that tips are welcome but not necessary

What’s your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations made more than 30 days in advance may be eligible for a refund. We’re happy to reschedule when possible. Full terms are outlined in the booking agreement.
