Notes from the Stand

Planning, repertoire, and the calm in between.

Compose your moment.

Welcome to Luxe Harmony’s journal, a space built around one idea: your wedding should sound as intentional as it looks.

Here you’ll find real wedding stories from days we were honored to score, alongside practical guidance for choosing ceremony and reception music. We also share honest perspective from a working violinist who has spent over a decade curating soundtracks for weddings across Florida and Texas, with destination availability for couples who want us further afield.

Some posts walk through the mechanics of booking live musicians, from timeline coordination to song selection. Others sit inside a single real wedding day, tracing how the music shaped a first look or carried a room through a father-daughter dance. All of them come from the same belief: the right music turns a wedding into a story worth remembering, not an event to check off.

As a wedding music concierge, our job is to handle the coordination and curation so you can stay focused on the moments themselves. Whether you’re planning an intimate garden ceremony or a full-service celebration with a live ensemble, you’ll find thoughtfully curated ideas here to help your day sound as beautiful as it looks.

String Quartet for Wedding: What to Know Before You Book

A string quartet is two violins, a viola and a cello, and it is the most requested and most misunderstood ensemble we book. Here is what one actually costs, what they play across the prelude, processional and recessional, how arrival and cueing work on the day, why amplification is not optional outdoors, and the questions worth asking any quartet before you sign.

A John's Island Club Wedding: Jane & Tully

Jane and Tully were married at Windsor Chapel, with cocktail hour at John's Island Club, and from the rehearsal on Friday through the last note of cocktail hour, it was one of those days where every detail felt intentional. A custom arrangement written for the bride's cousin to sing, a chapel renovated with acoustics good enough to play unamplified, a pink-and-green Palm Beach palette we matched right along with, and a grandmother's wedding dress passed down three generations.

What's Actually Included in Wedding Music Packages

One of the questions couples ask most before they book is what's actually included in wedding music packages. Here's the full breakdown, starting with the ceremony prelude, processionals and recessional that usually fall under one package, then the cocktail hour and reception add-ons, how musicians price by event rather than by the hour, and the questions worth asking about repertoire, travel fees and amplification before you sign anything.

How Far in Advance Should I Book Music for My Wedding?

How early to reserve your wedding musicians, broken down by ensemble, season, venue size, and market, with a month-by-month planning checklist. For most weddings, the recommendation is to book wedding musicians 9–12 months in advance, particularly during peak wedding season, at high-demand venues, or in luxury markets including Miami, Palm Beach, Austin, or San Antonio. Premium ensembles often fill their calendars well before the wedding date, especially for Saturdays in spring and fall, so early inquiry gives you the best chance at your preferred date.

    Wedding Violinist Prices

One of the most common questions couples ask while planning their wedding is: “How much does a wedding violinist cost?” The answer depends on several factors, including the musician’s experience level, credentials, performance time, travel, and the type of wedding experience you want to create. "We hired a violinist from Luxe Harmony for our wedding ceremony at the Jupiter Lighthouse.

The violinist, Oxana, was amazing and our guests were so impressed. She arrived early to set up, she was dressed elegantly, and her playing was wonderful. From playing “Ojitos Lindos” to “Concerning Hobbits”, she absolutely nailed each song!

The concierge service I received from Krystle was perfect. She was very attentive throughout the process and communicated well. She was so friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was set for our big day.

    Thank you Luxe Harmony!!"

"If you are considering musicians for your wedding, Luxe Harmony is the perfect company! My husband and I planned our intimate backyard wedding with only six weeks’ notice, and I was naturally a bit panicked about everything coming together. Krystle immediately put me at ease and made the entire process feel effortless. I requested a violin and cello duo for both our ceremony and cocktail hour, and she ensured every single song I listed as a must play was beautifully performed. She was also very understanding about any songs that we did not want played at our wedding.

Krystle was our violinist and performed alongside her talented cellist colleague. From start to finish Krystle and her colleague were incredibly professional, polished, friendly, and genuinely accommodating. Krystle’s communication was flawless. The timeline, logistics, and our music selections were handled with absolute precision. Truly, no notes. Not a single detail was overlooked. Krystle stopped by our home, when we initially booked, to see the space so she understood our plans for wedding day set-up. The morning of our wedding she and her cellist arrived early to set up, they were completely self sufficient in staging their equipment, came dressed perfectly for the occasion, and were an absolute pleasure to have as part of our day.

One of the most important aspects of music for us was having full freedom to choose our playlist. We wanted fun, upbeat, modern, non-traditional wedding music. They beautifully covered every song we requested for the full duration we booked, and the Vibo phone app profile she created for us made organizing our playlist SO SO EASY and SO SO FUN!! Seriously, we spent hours doing this 😂

    Our playlist included:
    • Chris Stapleton – Tennessee Whisky
    • Post Malone – Circles
    • Bad Bunny – dtmf
    • The Cure – Friday I’m In Love
    • Dexys Midnight Runners – Come On Eileen
    • Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – Home
    • Shaboozy – A Bar Song
    • OneRepublic – I Ain’t Worried
    • Frank Ocean – Thinkin Bout You
    • Hozier – Too Sweet
    • Sabrina Carpenter – Espresso
    • Harry Styles – As It Was
    • My Chemical Romance – Welcome to the Black Parade
    • Chappell Roan – Pink Pony Club
    • Justin Bieber – Peaches
    • Fleetwood Mac – Everywhere
    • Coldplay – Clocks
    • Alicia Keys – If I Ain’t Got You
    • Keane – Somewhere Only We Know
    • T Pain – I’m Sprung
We were sincerely so pleased with the atmosphere they created. It truly elevated the entire day and made our wedding feel personal, joyful, and unforgettable. If you are looking for professional musicians who are exceptionally talented, flexible, professional, and an absolute dream to work with, Luxe Harmony is it."

"We hired the Luxe Harmony String Quartet for our daughter’s wedding ceremony at Windsor Chapel and for our cocktail hour at John’s Island.

Krystle was easy to work with and helped our music vision become a reality. She was professional, responsive, organized, and truly cared about making every detail perfect for our wedding day.

One of the most special parts was that Krystle wrote a custom arrangement of “Christ Is Mine Forever More” for my niece to sing and be accompanied by the string quartet during the ceremony. Krystle arranged phone calls with her and sent a recording to her to ensure the music aligned. The String Quartet members attended our rehearsal to make sure every cue and transition was aligned.

The musicians arrived in matching pink dresses that matched the wedding theme!

If you are looking for luxury wedding musicians, a professional string quartet, or elegant live music for a wedding or cocktail hour, I recommend Luxe Harmony."
