There's a common myth that a wedding ceremony string quartet only plays classical music, and sure, some groups do stick to that. But plenty of us play modern music too. The trick is finding musicians who actually enjoy that modern repertoire, not ones who are just sight-reading it cold on the day. If a quartet has never really heard the song before and is only following notes on a page, you can usually tell.
